VivaLab committed to Local SDGs

This is a representation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (ODS) made with plastic waste. The ODS are a set of 17 global objectives to address social, economic, and environmental challenges that are part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

At VivaLab Porto, we are proud in our commitment to promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) at the local level. Our dedication to sustainability spans various areas, focusing on quality education (SDG 4), gender equality (SDG 5), responsible consumption (SDG 12), climate action (SDG 13), and fostering partnerships to achieve these objectives (SDG 17).

We have got 6 projects published on the ODS Local platform for projects commited with the Sustainable Development Goals in Portugal: DesCoser Preconceitos um projeto comunitário para reaproveitamento de desperdícios têxteis dinamizado através de um encontro mensal no VIVA Lab; Fab ConnectHer, a European project that aims to combat the under-representation of women in the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) fields; Plastic Play, which aims to involve children, young people and the community in general in creative activities using recycled plastic, addressing the urgent problem of plastic waste and its environmental impact; Precious Plastic, a combination of people, machines, platforms and knowledge to create an alternative global recycling system; BioMakerLab, a community biology and science Maker Lab at VivaLab, dedicated to making science accessible and inclusive for all; and Viva Lab Fab Lab which aims to democratise access to personal and collaborative innovation, using digital technologies to do (almost) everything.
