Textile festival 2022

On April 7th and 8th, 2022, the "Textile Festival" marked the culmination of various activities developed within the European project Shemakes. On the first day, we conducted several workshops such as stamping and sewing tote bags with the support of laser cutting and textile electronics. On the 8th, we had a visit to the city of Covilhã in partnership with the Municipality, where we toured the New Hand Lab and later visited the Wool Museum, engaging in a hands-on experience with wool and its traditions. With this festival, we aim to showcase to young girls the potential of digital fabrication within the textile industry as a tool for innovation and a career opportunity. This Textile Festival includes girls aged 6 to 18 years old.
